Sight impaired from the side

I had cataract surgery on both eyes (one week apart). The left eye was done first and have had a visual problem ever since the bandage was removed. To explain it is hard but it seems that I have like a shadow and blurring coming in from the left corner, especially when in light. My ophthalmologist has checked the pressure and eye condition and even took pictures of the eye without any answer. No problem with right eye at all.

Dear Beverley

Some people do experience a shadow effect in the periphery of their visual field. It is not entirely clear why this happens. It may be a shadowing effect from the edge of the intraocular lens or from the anterior capsule edge. The important thing is to exclude a retinal detachment, which I am sure your ophthalmologist has already done.

Kind regards,
Brian
