I had cataract surgery on my right eye on March 25/13 and on my left eye April 9/13. I have no discomfort in my left eye although my vision has not improved at all. I have had continued discomfort in my right eye and lights cause an aura or refraction of the light which can be very distracting. Recently, when driving through the city after dark, I found the street lights were so disconcerting that I had to put my sunglasses on! The surgeon had told me at the time of surgery that, if I had any problems, to phone his office. However, when I phoned I was told to discuss the matter with my optometrist. My optometrist suggested eye drops for 'dry eye' which does relieve the discomfort temporarily. I never had these problems before surgery and wish I had never had it done as my eyes were not that bad beforehand and I was surprised when told I needed the surgery.
