Four months after cataract surgery vision has deteriorated

72 year old male, has cataract surgery left eye 15 months ago, still good almost 20/20 vision. Right eye done five months ago, was 20/20 but has deteriorated gradually so long distance vision is degraded, slightly double vision, not clear. Being also treated for macular degeneration but feel this is not the problem as the macular degeneration has been over 10 years and very gradual, the change in vision is happening relative quickly. I note using binoculars the focus become very sharp in right eye with focus adjustment so hoping a new prescription from my optometrist next week will fix problem.
